2007 Scientific Meeting – Final Program

2007 Annual Meeting Final Program (PDF)

The AUGS 28th Annual Scientific Meeting was a huge success with over 250 abstracts submitted and 175 accepted.  Over 760 physicians, physical therapists, researchers, and nurses joined us at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, Florida for networking, education and hearing the latest research.

The scientific program covered a diverse range of oral presentations and posters. There are several randomized controlled trials that had been ongoing through the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network (PFDN) and the Urinary Incontinence Trial Network (UITN). Both networks had provided several pertinent studies with longer term follow-up on more traditional treatment options for management of prolapse and urinary incontinence. New data from these trials included information on the utility of urodynamic evaluation, longer term follow-up and further evaluation of subgroups within the study populations. There were also two trials comparing botulinum toxin to placebo for the treatment of detrusor overactivity. In addition, there were exciting new basic science developments in animal models for prolapse, birth trauma and urinary incontinence.
