Description
This course is intended to provide the clinician with a functional understanding of the latest advances for evaluating and treating female pelvic floor disorders. The didactic sessions will provide attendees with an in-depth knowledge of pelvic organ prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and anatomy. Basic and advanced treatment options will be discussed by leading experts in the field. The Hands-on Workshops will provide the participant with an opportunity to view actual procedures and techniques discussed in the didactic sessions. They will also allow the participant to interact with the faculty in a more informal atmosphere for an open exchange of ideas.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss surgical anatomy of the female pelvis and the biomechanics related to continence and pelvic support
- Identify new procedures available to treat stress urinary incontinence in the office and operating room
- Evaluate and discuss the treatment options for fecal incontinence
- Discuss how complications occur during pelvic surgery and learn how to better manage them
