Updates for 2026 URPS Fellowship Interview Season

Incorporation of Standardized Letters of Evaluation (SLOE)

Starting with the 2026 interview season, each applicant will be required to submit a total of three Letters of Recommendation. Two of the letters will be templated Standardized Letters of Evaluation (SLOE):

  1. One SLOE from a Urogynecologist
  2. One SLOE from the current Residency Program Director. If an applicant completed residency 2 or more years ago, this SLOE should be completed by their current Chair or Division Head.

Each SLOE template focuses on different applicant qualities and strengths. These SLOEs will provide valuable insights into the applicants’ qualifications and readiness for the fellowship program. Note that the third letter can be in any format.

To assist program directors and applicants with the new requirements, please use the toolkits below:

Program Signaling

Also starting with the 2026 interview season, applicants may use signaling to express interests in our fellowship program. The total number of signals per applicant is ten (10). This new feature will allow applicants to express their interest while helping program directors identify candidates who are best suited and most enthusiastic about their program.

Fellowship Application Key Dates

Many urogynecology programs have chosen to participate in a cooperative effort to streamline the process. The goal is help you coordinate interviews at your preferred programs as offered, have enough time to get coverage for your interview dates, and hopefully decrease the stress of the application process.
