The AUGS Self-Assessment Fellows Exam (SAFE) is a web-based, multiple choice exam designed to test objectives found in the Guide to Learning for Urogynecology.

Exam Results
The exam will be scored immediately upon submission. Examinees will be able to view their scores, along with the category of any question that they missed along with its learning objectives, commentary and references. Examinees will also receive a comparison of how they did on the exam against others. To protect the integrity of the exam, we will not be able to share the question stems with any examinees.
There are two options for accessing each Fellows’ exam scores:
- Option 1: Each fellow can email their scores directly from the e-learning portal to their PD.
- Option 2: A program’s designated program coordinator may retrieve the scores directly from the e-learning portal.
Option 1 Instructions:
- Login to: https://education.augs.org/Public/Catalog/Home.aspx
- Click on “my courses” on the left navigation panel
- Find the safe exam from the list and click
- Click on “report” under the orange Score panel
- Click on the blue button at the top of the page that says “email”
- Enter the Program Director’s email address and hit send.
Option 2 Instructions:
- Login to: https://education.augs.org/Public/Catalog/Home.aspx
- Navigate to your name and click on the carrot to the right for a dropdown.
- From the dropdown list, click on Switch to Coordinator.
- You will be able to find the Fellows associated with the program on a list.
- Navigate to the person you are looking for and click on their name.

Eligibility
- SAFE is open only to Urogynecology Fellows
- You do not have to be a member of AUGS to take the exam
- Complimentary registration is offered to fellows in an accredited AUGS Fellowship Program. Programs must pay their 2025 membership dues by January 31, 2025 before registering.
Exam Dates
- Fellows need to register themselves for the exam.
- Unless required by the individual’s fellowship program, registered examinees may take the exam on any weekday, at any time of the day, during the exam period.
- AUGS DOES NOT provide exam proctoring. Fellows are responsible for following their own program requirements when taking SAFE. Please check with your program coordinator or program director for exam date and proctoring requirements.

About SAFE
- This exam is intended to serve solely as a self-assessment for individual fellows.
- AUGS is the only sponsoring organization. The exam questions are written by our highly dedicated group of AUGS volunteers.
- The exam contains 100 multiple choice questions. The recommended time for the exam is 3 hours.
- The items on the exam have not been validated, meaning valid comparisons cannot be made between fellow scores. As in past years, we will not release exam statistics.
Exam Proctoring
AUGS DOES NOT provide exam proctoring. Fellows are responsible for following their own program requirements when taking the exam. Please check with your program coordinator or program director for proctoring requirements.
AUGS’s Policy on the use of Self-Assessment Fellows Exam (SAFE) and Self-Assessment Exam Questions for Research

AUGS does not grant any requests for the use of SAFE or Self-Assessment Exam questions for research. While the Society appreciates the interest in using the exam tools for research, AUGS must prioritize the integrity of the assessment tools and protect our intellectual property.
AUGS will reassess and revisit this policy periodically.
