Applications are closed.

There are over a dozen committees whose collective work delivers on the strategic initiatives of AUGS. These groups are critical to providing services, education, and support to our members. There are a variety of opportunities available, allowing volunteers to match with a committee that best aligns with their passions and talents.

Timeline

  • May 12– June 30: Applications accepted
  • Early September: Committee appointments communicated

January 2027: Committee term begins

Qualifications for Committee Volunteers 

  • AUGS physician, affiliate, fellow or life member in good standing.
    • Note: Fellows positions are limited to certain committees.
  •  An interest in the committee’s area of focus.
  • The ability to make the necessary time commitment and actively participate in meetings and committee initiatives.
  • Meets other criteria as indicated in the committee’s charter (see below).

Committee Terms

  • Committee appointments are for one year (typically January – December), with the possibility of renewing for up to two additional years.
  • Vice-chair and Chair roles are for two year cycles.
  • Volunteers may serve on one committee at a time.
  • Please see committee charters for additional details and exceptions.

Application Process

Prior to applying, please:

  • Review the Committee Charters: Click on the committee name to view additional details on responsibilities, qualifications and expectations.  Please take special note of committee composition in order to determine eligibility.
  • Ensure your membership dues are paid in full through year-end. 
  • Submit an application, indicating up to four committees of interest, by June 30.
  • Please note openings vary annually based on returning committee members

Advanced Practice Provider Committee
Purpose / Key Projects
Implements the annual APP meeting, maintains resources that meet the needs of APP members.
Composition
Chair, Vice Chair, up to 8 committee members including APPs, physicians, nurses and therapists.

Annual Meeting Program Committee
Purpose / Key Projects
Develop programming for the AUGS Annual Meeting.
Composition
Chair, Vice Chair, fellow representative, private practice representative, early career representative, basic science representative, 6–8 additional members.

CME Committee
Purpose / Key Projects
Ensure educational activities are consistent with the requirements of the ACCME.
Composition
Chair, Vice Chair, up to 8 physician members.

Coding Committee

Educate members on coding procedures and advocate for favorable physician payment.
