Applications will be evaluated by the UrogynCREST Advisory Committee who will recommend applicants to the UrogynCREST PI for final appointment. Participants will be notified of their status in late September 2020. Up to 6 applicants will be accepted into the program.
Criteria for selection include the following:
- Candidate’s prior research training and productivity including competency in basic research concepts such as study bias, interpretation of Type I and Type II errors, use of appropriate statistical methods, interpretation of confidence intervals and the limitations of studies
- Quality of candidate’s concept proposal and career development plan
- Potential to contribute to depth and/or breadth of pelvic floor disorders research
- Potential for candidate's stated educational goals and research interests to be furthered by UrogynCREST participation and their potential for contribution to the program
- Departmental support of candidate’s application
Annual Reappointment Process
Scholars will be reappointed annually by the UrogynCREST PI with recommendations from the Advisory Committee regarding their adherence and completion of course curriculum and the progress of their research project.
Should a scholar be found to be delinquent in any responsibility, a remediation plan will be created by the UrogynCREST PI and approved by the Advisory Committee including additional meetings with the mentor and scholar if needed. If the scholar cannot adhere to the conditions of the program or fails to follow the remediation plan, he or she may be dismissed from the UrogynCREST program.
